Herbert Street will once again come alive with Christmas cheer on Saturday 5 December from 3pm, as the much-loved Allora Bush Christmas returns for another afternoon of festive entertainment and community spirit.
Currently organised by The Allora Community Circle, the annual celebration is a highlight of the town's festive calendar, bringing locals and visitors together to celebrate the season.
Allora Community Circle President Krissy Henry says the true heart of Bush Christmas lies in the community that makes it possible.
“What really makes this event special to us is that it is community-led & run. The generous financial support of local businesses and Council plays a vital role, alongside the volunteers who dedicate their time and energy throughout the year who bring it all together,” Krissy said.
“Events like this don't just magically happen. There is an enormous amount of work behind the scenes, and without the people who willingly give their time and financial backing, it simply wouldn't be possible. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a generous and supportive community, and Bush Christmas really is a wonderful testament to that.”
Over the years, the event has continued to grow & evolve, offering something for all ages. Families can enjoy carnival rides, jumping castles, Christmas markets, delicious food stalls, live music, entertainment and Christmas carols, with local businesses also opening their doors for the festivities.
Of course, a favourite highlight is the arrival of Santa, making his grand entrance in a sleigh pulled by live reindeer!
Entry to Bush Christmas is completely free, with all-you-can-ride armbands available for just $25, giving children unlimited access to the rides throughout the afternoon. The new BODY ROCK, the TEA-CUPS, The favourite - The Trackless Train and Jumping Castles, there is something for ALL ages.
The celebration also provides a wonderful opportunity for families, friends and workplaces to gather for their Christmas parties. With the town always bustling, visitors are encouraged to book ahead with local businesses.
Bush Christmas also marks the launch of the annual Allora Christmas Lights Competition, with the final judging taking place on Sunday 20 December alongside the Allora Community Circle's Cruisin' Christmas. This festive convoy of decorated vehicles follows a designated route through town, taking in the beautiful Christmas light displays.
