In 2013 the Warwick Picnic Race Club disbanded and the Warwick Turf Club committed to take over the “race day like no other”. From 2014 to now patron numbers have multiplied from 500 people enjoying their Picnics to over 1,200 people bringing in their own food & drink to enjoy as a Picnic with their family & friends.

The Picnics were hosted in May until 2020 when moved to June. You must have a warm jacket to attend the Warwick Automotive Picnic Race Day as it is known to be chilly and you will want to keep warm.

Hoping to attract a larger field for the Picnic Cup the Club have value added to the prize-money of $2,000 and a trophy to the value of $200 will be given to the Warwick Automotive Picnic Cup winner.

Last year the Picnics were abandoned at the last minute & transferred to the following week.  The Picnic Cup winner in 2022 was Vinasta trained by Corey & Kylie Geran and ridden by Emily Lang.  On this day Emily Lang rode 5 winners, a great achievement for Emily a young apprentice jockey.

Events on the day will include the Warwick Hotel Fashions on the Field – Best Dressed Lady, Man & Couple.  Joining the people fashions is the horse fashions with the Rebuild Relief Best Dressed Strapper & Best Presented Horse.  Winners & Runners up in the Fashions will receive cash prizes.
