Janine Hegarty’s dear friend Beryl Tranter sadly passed away from motor neurone disease on Anzac Day 2019.  Beryl, like Janine was a lover of gardening and enjoyed visiting open gardens to gain inspiration.  Janine and Beryl's family have decided that a good way to honour Beryl's memory is to arrange for an open garden and raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Queensland Inc. (MND Qld).  MND Qld provides a wonderful range of support services for suffers of motor neurone disease, their families, and supporters.

Janine and Sean Hegarty’s garden at ‘Haddington’, 118 Ogilvie Road Warwick, will be thrown open to the public in April.  ‘Haddington’ is an 1890's era home set on two acres of land.  

There are a number of different sections to the garden and numerous points of interest. The garden contains a mixture of native and exotic plants, with something different around every corner; along with variety of interesting (often quirky) ornaments and features.  The garden has a number of places where a visitor can sit and quietly enjoy the peaceful environment and birds which inhabit the garden.

While the effects of the drought are still evident in the number of young plants installed to replace the plethora of trees and shrubs which succumbed to the ravages of drought, there are still a large variety of mature plants to appreciate, with a wide range of plants flowering in all seasons.  Recent rains have reinvigorated the garden and the survivors of the drought flourish once more.

The garden will be open Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of April between 10am and 4pm Light refreshments will be available for purchase, there will be some plants for sale and a raffle.  Entry is $6 per person.  No eftpos available.
