Fiona Hayes
Acclaimed Artist to exhibit at Art & Craft Expo
STORY Bette Bonney | PHTO Supplied
Fiona Hayes has become a ‘household name’ among artists on the Southern Downs and far beyond. Since she began painting in 2015 Hayes has achieved acclaim, winning awards at several competitions. Fiona’s art has been purchased by customers worldwide, including USA, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, UK, South Africa and Colombia, to name a few. Participation in several international painting workshops, including United Kingdom and Italy is reflected in Fiona’s unique artwork.
Fiona will be a special guest at the Art and Craft Expo to be hosted by Rose City Probus Club of Warwick on Saturday October 17th, and will participate in a “Live Landscape painting” competition on the day which incorporates a beautiful vista of the Great Dividing Range. To be held in conjunction with the Regency Park Retirement Village Open Day, there is opportunity for artisans of many styles to exhibit, win prizes, and sell their work.
Fiona is keen to encourage others to contribute to the day. "I am happy to participate in the Probus Art & Craft Expo, and by doing so, hope to inspire others to include art or craft making in their lives. I encourage other artisans on the Southern Downs to be involved too and support this event.” “With most markets and many exhibitions cancelled this year, this is an ideal opportunity to come along to the Expo and visit all the stalls, and perhaps make a purchase of some original art".
Colin Dobie, President of Rose City Probus Club, assures “all participants will be operating in a “safe” environment, taking into account all Government Co-vid regulations, and will take place under cover.” All commissions, donations to support Life Flight.
