Helena started her own florist and gift shop when she was 15. She ran the shop for 10 years before selling the business to raise a family. Almost four years ago, Helena did the wedding flowers for a family friend and it reignited her passion for the flower business.

They say if you are doing a job you truly love, you’ll never work a day in your life. To say Helena loves flowers is an understatement! The passion and pride in her work is obvious. She is meticulous and one could almost say pedantic about the way her flowers are presented and her attention to detail.

Helena has told me on many occasions that she “loves making brides cry!”, she means this in the nicest possible way! To quote Helena, “It’s an honour to be part of one of the most important days of their life! For some it’s a day they’ve been dreaming of since they were little. It makes my soul happy to be able to bring their vision to life so perfectly that they actually have that reaction!”

This latest venture of Flowers By Helena is one built entirely from home. What started out as doing a few bunches for family and friends has quickly built up to a full time job that is now doing 40+ weddings every year and has a fast growing team around her.

I haven’t even mentioned the day-to-day flowers that she does! Taking orders online or by phone for delivery in our local area. Helena truly does live and breathe the flower industry. She is even branching out to growing her own flowers to improve quality and reduce the carbon footprint.

For the past 2 years, Flowers By Helena has been a finalist in the ABIA and Wedding Industry Awards. Finishing top 5 in the State for both Floral Design and Wedding Styling against hundreds of businesses throughout Queensland.
