Little Tackers Educators share a passion and philosophy for providing natural, child-initiated, play based learning experiences and environments. The centre is guided by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, where children are allowed to explore and discover in a supportive and rich environment and educators create their programmes around children’s interests.

Surrounded by an oasis of newly renovated and rejuvenated gardens and play areas, the centre provides clean, green and safe spaces to run, play, grow and thrive. The renovated, light-filled, older-style building boasts extensive open verandas, perfect for alfresco dining and play-based activities. 

Expansive playgrounds include three separate areas and younger children can play safely in their own space, with large open areas, trees, sand pits and bike tracks.

With a strong focus on the environment, children at Little Tackers learn about plants, growing food and recycling in the garden, which include a vegetable patch, fruit trees and the centre’s worm farms, with harvesting fruit and feeding the worms proving popular activities. With sustainability a focus, the centre now has both solar panels and rainwater tanks to ensure the business is as self-sufficient as possible. Plastics are discouraged and the centre is full of natural timber and wicker furniture and toys that are made to last.

Educators are fully first aid qualified and continuous learning and education is encouraged. The centre provides all meals with an on-site cook preparing fresh, nutritious food daily, which is served on the sunny verandas or in the playgrounds on picnic tables.

Situated on the corner of Yangan Road and Briggs Street, off street parking provides easy access for safe pick up and drop off. A courtesy bus provides a pick up and drop off service for school children and is also well utilised at Vacation Care time providing opportunities to get children out exploring the area.
