Get ready for a weekend of classic automotive nostalgia as the Warwick Veteran and Vintage Car Club proudly presents its 50th-anniversary rally on the 9th and 10th of March 2024. This milestone event promises to be a celebration of the rich history that began with our very first meeting on February 18th, 1974, at The Horse and Jockey Hotel in Warwick.
Founder Eddie Marshall, cruising in his vintage 1926 Oakland, continues to be a driving force within the club, currently serving as its president. Now comfortably navigating the roads in his cherished Morris, affectionately known as the "little Mach Truck," Eddie's enduring passion sets the tone for our club's commitment to preserving automotive heritage.
Throughout the years, the club has been a steadfast supporter of local communities, participating in numerous parades and fetes. Looking ahead, we are eager to continue these contributions, fostering a sense of camaraderie among enthusiasts and leaving a lasting impact on our neighborhoods.
As we approach this significant anniversary, our club is excited about the prospect of reconnecting with past members and welcoming a new generation of enthusiasts. While we fondly remember those we've lost, the influx of fresh faces ensures that our journey into the future is marked by vibrant energy and shared enthusiasm for vintage vehicles.
Our active members now meet alternately between Allora (Blue Care) and Warwick (Australiana Park) on the first Wednesday of each month at 9 am. These gatherings include short runs through the surrounding areas, complete with picnics or visits to coffee venues. We extend a warm invitation to anyone with an interest to join us in these delightful outings.
On Sunday, March 10th, around 8:30am, our stunning array of vintage cars will assemble in Alice St, Warwick, opposite the Australian Rodeo Heritage Centre, before embarking on the rally. Warwick locals are encouraged to seize this opportunity to witness stunning and interesting vehicles, providing a unique glimpse into automotive history.
