SCOTS PGC
supporting Sam’s Polocrosse pursuits The Sargood surname is well known in the world of polocrosse. Meet Sam Sargood, a Year 11 boarding student at SCOTS PGC College. Sam will be lining up in this year’s World Cup event as a representative player for the Queensland Junior Boys team who will play in the Barastoc Competition during the World Cup Week. Sam has been a loyal member of the Tambo Polocrosse Club since age 5, but signed up as a Warwick recruit when he made the move to commence as a boarding student at SCOTS PGC College earlier this year. His whole family are keen polocrosse players who have also donned the Queensland colours. They will be here supporting Sam when he takes to the field later this month. For Sam, finding a boarding school where he could have the creature comforts that his hometown of Tambo offered was really important. “When I first came to visit SCOTS PGC, I loved the fact that I could bring my horse and still train for and play polocrosse. There is a real bush culture within the school which helps kids like me really fit in and feel at home straight away.” You’ll find Sam training with his horse Summer most afternoons and mornings at the SCOTS PGC Equestrian Centre. “What I love about being here is the fact that I still get to do something that I really love which fits in with my school timetable. We have access to great facilities and we are very lucky that the College and the staff are so supportive.” SCOTS PGC College are hosting College Tours during the week of the Adina World Cup Polocrosse. Tours are scheduled for Friday 26 April and Saturday 27 April from 9:00am – 11:00am. Bus collections and drop-offs from IOR Morgan Park are also available.
